Seven Benefits of Coaching

#1. Prayer / God Thinking:  You have someone regularly praying for you and your ministry…someone who will challenge you to think like God (spiritual thinking) not just yourself (natural thinking).

#2. Agenda Harmony Assistance:  You have someone who will regularly connect with you to assist you in your personal and professional growth, asking you key questions.  Your coach will help you work with members of the local church,  building a common objective, with a common purpose, in a common spirit.  The  apostle Paul knew the importance of agenda harmony within the church and wrote, “If you have any fellowship with the Spirit ... then make my joy complete by having these four characteristics as a church:  1) be like-minded,  2)have the same love, 3) be one in spirit and 4) be one in purpose” (Phil 2:1-2).

#3. Planning:  You have someone who will assist you and the church in building and implementing your Church Action Plan, to help you take positive steps forward.  People can run with a vision that is written down (Habakkuk 2:2-4).

#4. Accountability:  You will have someone to help hold you accountable for positive change.  We all perform better when we put ourselves in accountable relationships.

#5. Assessment:  You will have someone from outside the church offer you another set of assessment eyes, giving you a different perspective.

#6. Skills/Experience:  You will have someone from outside the church offer you a solid set of skills and experience from their knowledge of local church ministry.

#7. Time / Feedback:  You will have someone willing to offer you what you many times need the most, time to reflect with someone else, and to receive feedback.
