Assessment for those Preparing for Ministry
One of the pressing needs and areas of concern for many districts/judicatories has been in the area of assessment for those in the credentialing process. Over the past several years, NCS has been developing a system of assessment for those preparing for ministry. The assessment includes several areas including:
- Discovering Your Strengths
- Personality
- Spiritual Gifts
- Marriage and Family
- Ministry Interests
- Behavior Interview
The outcome of the assessment is for each person to form a personal development plan to address the findings of the assessment process. They are then assigned a mentor who will use the development plan as a guideline for their follow up.
There are two delivery options for this service:
- The first is for the district/judicatory to put together an assessment team (often a current board or team) and then an NCS senior consultant will work with this team (usually a two day retreat) to develop an assessment system that is delivered by the district.
- The second option is for NCS to lead and conduct the assessment as a ongoing service for the district. This allows for an objective perspective and protects relationships on the district/judicatory.
