NCS International Guiding Philosophy

The guiding philosophy of NCS International is very simple.  While we feel a deep calling from God to share what we are learning with the world, we also are VERY conscious that with humility, we must sit at the feet of our brothers and sisters from around the world and learn.  All leaders are learners.  The moment we stop learning is the moment we stop leading.  The following guidelines are simple but very important to us as we continue to develop better ways of sharing “trans-cultural” learning.

1. Every Training Component Rooted In Scripture:  The task of building highly-effective global church consulting / training systems that can be easily contextualized to fit the various cultures of the world is no easy task.  For us to accomplish this task, every training principle we use must be rooted in Scripture.  It is the one book that we know is transcultural.

2. Contextualization Is Best Done By Persons Within Their Own Culture:  The only people who can really contextualize training effectively are people who live within the culture we are trying to reach and more effectively resource.  The delivery of our  training internationally must be done by using a regular feedback loop from nationals who can help us perfect the training / consulting systems within their culture.

3. Begin With the End In Mind:  We will be very definite in defining what the desired outcomes of the consulting and training is, before we begin.

4. Balance of Character & Competence:  We will focus on both the personal development of the church leader, as well as his/her competencies to lead God’s church.

5. Informal / Formal Assessment of Leaders:  We will work with both indigenous church people, as well as field personnel, to determine who is capable and eligible for church leadership.   The criteria for an informal and formal assessment of church leaders will be developed and contextualized within each culture.  We have learned  that our ability to produce solid results is directly related to the preparation and abilities of the leaders we work with.

6. Our Passion - Building Global Christians:  The goal of our consulting and training is to make Christ-like disciples in the nations.  We aim to assist the development of mature disciples who see the world the way God sees it.  In every culture, before we begin we must clearly understand what a global disciple will look like in a biblical, local church in that culture.

7. Our Attitude - Loving the Church:  The attitudes of the people who train, coach and consult will directly affect the training and coaching outcomes.  We believe first and foremost we must love the church as Jesus did, so much so that he "gave Himself up for her to make her holy" (Ephesians 5:26).  When love for the church permeates the heart of the trainer, it will permeate the hearts of the church leaders being trained.

8. Our Expertise – Coaching, Consulting & Training: NCS Senior Consultants are the very BEST at what they do, whether it is in training in NewStart, ReStart, Church Parenting, ReFocusing, Church Health, Church Assessments, Coaching, Strategic Planning, ReLaunch & ReLocation, Mediation & Conflict Resolution, Discipleship, Transitional Interim Pastors, Leadership Development, Organic Church Network and more.  We continue to learn better how our “specialties” help create a “new church” mentality which leads to health and growth.  We are VERY excited about the possibilities of taking what we are learning, field-testing, contextualizing and continuing our learning within the various cultures and regions of the world.
