NCS Hispanic Ministry:
Rev. Jose Cardona leads the ministry of New Church Specialties to Hispanic leaders and churches. As an NCS Senior Consultant, he has an extensive background of Hispanic coaching and broad consulting experience. He is a graduate of both Mid-America Nazarene University and the Spanish American Nazarene Seminary. He has also studied Church Growth at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California and Urban Mission and Leadership Development at the Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, New York.
Jose has overseen the development of the first New Church University delivered fully in Spanish, October 17-19, 2006 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Free Methodist, Salvation Army, Church of the Nazarene and Wesleyan denominations have all participated in its development.
He has been a successful Nazarene District Superintendent, working and coaching numbers of church planters and pastors. As both a church planter and Director of Mission Development in Central Florida, he oversaw the planting of 20 new churches in the years between 2002 and 2005. These new church plants were started among Anglo, Hispanics, Haitians and Vietnamese.
Jose also served four years as Chairman of the New Start Committee as part of the Nazarene Hispanic Strategy Committee in the USA / Canada Mission Evangelism, where he helped in the training of new church planters by holding regional training events throughout the USA and Canada. He has served pastorates in Texas, Kansas City, Puerto Rico, New Jersey and Florida. He was married to Adelaida for 43 years, has five children (Laurie, Eileen, Wendy, Jose Daniel and Rebeca) and 12 grandchildren.
