April Update
What a journey!
Organic Church and the Border Initiative. I just returned from 5 days in Chapala Mexico where the Organic Church Network is starting a partner relationship with the Nazarene Border Initiative which is being led by Missionaries Steve and Debbie Baker. What incredible people with out of the box vision. The vision is to impact the border through the planting of 500 churches. How do you plant 500 churches in this economy – it must be through the Organic, multiplication and reproduction of disciples who can make disciples and plant the Kingdom of God in their neighborhoods. It is no secrete to God or man that God is needed along the Mexico border. The other truth is that the border is rich, fertile soil for the planting of God’s Word. 26 Spirit filled and God directed leaders met together to learn and discover how the Organic Church Network could be a part of this vision. God was already there. The energy in the room and the excitement about the relationships God was forming was awe inspiring. God started forming this team as long as 20 years ago and the relationships and connections that were in the room this weekend were nothing short of God ordained. It is so exciting to be a part of what God is doing.
Another cool partnership is with Dr. Woodie Stevens and the Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries of the church of the Nazarene. Because the Organic Church is all about making disciples that can make disciples that can make disciples it is a natural and “organic” relationship that is developing with this department of the church. I look forward to seeing how this relationship unfolds in the days to come.
