ORGANIC CHURCH NETWORK
JULY 09 UPDATE:

I am sitting in one of my favorite hamburger joints, Mooyah, thinking about this past month and the myriad of things I could write about for this month’s Organic Update.  So many things are happening in the Organic Church that it would take pages to bring you up to speed.  One thing I have discovered, however, is we want it brief.  So in the culturally relevant fashion of Face book and twitter, you will now get several updates of 140 characters or less (give or take).

General assembly for the Church of the Nazarene was awesome and it was nice to meet so many of you at the NCS booth and connect with you.  Great days are ahead for the Church of the Nazarene Organically speaking.

Organic Church University – Oct. 23-25 in Austin Texas.  College Students, retired pastors, those frustrated with status quo church, church planters, visionary leaders, innovative and creative missional minded pastors and laymen, District leaders. This is for you. Register now by clicking here

Organic church multiplies in Mexico.  Following our training event in Chapala, at least 3 new churches have been started that we know of, over 15 salvations have occurred and leader’s lives are being reshaped to being the church 24/7 everywhere.  (for more about the 24/7 church click here to read the article "Church On The Road")

South Texas District of the Church of the Nazarene "Understanding Organic Church" Seminar scheduled for July 25 at Austin Grace Church of the Nazarene.

Lake Church in Clearlake Park CA, is watching God build the church while they are being the church at the ball field.  Those once resistant to the institutional God are finding hope in the relational God seen in David and Lori Kincaid – Organic leaders.  (find them on facebook group Lake church)

Missionaries to Thailand are looking to the Nazarene Organic Church Network and New Church Specialties to discover how the Organic Church can assist them in a Tsunami ravaged area and maximize organic and cell church models.

Organic Leaders John and Amanda Huddle are seeing God open up opportunities to plant churches. “Our main church Network - Nomad - has branched into three areas: an apartment in West Los Angeles, a house/apartment in South Central Los Angeles, and a massive park near the airport.”

Bakersfield, CA Spanish-speaking congregation is exploding and their pastor doesn’t want to be building-centric.  He is partnering with John Huddle to help them with Life Transformation Groups and materials in Spanish.

What about the conventional church with an Organic Heart?  Pastor Jim Wolstenholm from Gilmer TX is finding ways to make disciples who can make disciples through organic men’s groups.  – Way to go Jim!

Can’t leave out McKinney Texas.  Nothing is more exciting than when the neighbors you have been praying for walk across the street and ask “the laymen” in your organic church to have a Bible study with them.  Way to live it in your neighborhood Jay and Jodi.

Connections McKinney is talking about multiplying the church by starting another one in the homeless shelter they have been ministering in.

BTW you can start a church anywhere… Come to Organic Church University to find out more and how.

Well there is a quick glimpse into some of the things happening in the Organic Church Network.  I would love to hear from others about what God is doing in your organic ministries.  Please send me an e-mail at office@newchurchspecialties.org any time and let me know what is happening.
