Parent Church Seminars:
Dr. Charles Lake is an NCS Senior Consultant, with specialty in Parenting Churches and Discipleship. He has wide experience in both fields and currently leads NCS Parent Church Training.
In 1977 Dr. Lake planted an independent, interdenominational church in Greenwood, Indiana. During his 28 years of ministry there, the church planted 11 daughter congregations, 10 in the Greenwood area and one in Lexington, Kentucky. The daughter churches have, in turn, planted 10 congregations in Indiana and Kentucky and 12 in the country of Brazil, SA. The Community Church network now numbers 32 congregations. One of Dr. Lake’s greatest passions is in seeing the kingdom of God expanded through the planting of new congregations.
During his pastoral ministry, Dr. Lake authored Discipleship Training: An Experience in Training and Accountability. The material, consisting in 10 nine-week levels of small group discipleship training, is being used by churches throughout the US and Canada. It has been translated into 6 different languages. Recently, the Salvation Army adopted the program as their tool for making disciples world-wide. As a joint effort with Dr. Lake, the Army is further translating the material into different languages of the world to make the material available as widely as possible.
Dr. Lake also serves as an Adjunct Seminary Professor, teaching in the US and abroad in the fields of preaching and church administration. Having previously served with a missions sending agency, he is a frequent speaker in missions conferences and to missionaries overseas. Dr. Lake earned the following degrees: an AB from Asbury College; an M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary; an MA from Butler University; a D.Min. from Asbury Theological Seminary.
New Church Specialties offers seminars as well as consultations on How To Parent A New Church.
