Coaching Qualification Process
The building and maintaining of a quality coaching movement is directly tied to the ability to provide quality, competent coaching for church planters, restart and refocusing pastors. New Church Specialties is totally committed to the training and development of a highly qualified and competent coaching team.
If you have a proven track record of hope and are interested in becoming an NCU nationally certified coach, here are the training requirements.
Training Requirements to become an NCS Coach:
- Recommended by District/Judicatory Leader
- Attend the pre-NCU Network Group Leaders training (The day before each NCU)
- Attend NCU and lead a network group
- Must have demonstrated competence and expertise in ministry skills through their previous ministry assignments
- Attend NCU Coaches Taining
- Must work through "Empowering Leaders Through Coaches"
- Read "Who Stole My Church," "Who Moved My Cheese?" and "Natural Church Development"
- Attend the annual coaches gathering training event
There are four different levels of coaching that a person must work their way through to assure quality control:
Coach In Training
- Must be recommended by their district/judicatory leader.
- Must have completed all the training requirements.
- Must pass the Coach In Training initial interview with NCS.
- All coaching agreements as a CIT will be supervised by a Senior Coach.
- Must make a committment to attend the annual coachers gathering.
- Agrees that all expenses incurred for the training are paid for by them, their respective district or denomination, not New Church Specialties.
Associate Coach
- Have completed all the requirements of a CIT.
- Will have completed at least 2 coaching relationships.
- Have attended at least one Annual Coaches Gathering.
- Successfully passes the Associate Coach Interview.
- Commitment to life long learning by reading and reviewing annually at least two resources from the recommended coaching resource list.
Senior Coach
- Have completed all the requirements of an Associate Coach.
- Will have completed at least 6 coaching relationships.
- Will have attended at least two Annual Coaches' gatherings.
- Successfully passes the Senior Coach interview.
- Complete NCS Church Health Implementation Training.
- Committment to mentored at least two CIT's.
- Commitment to life long learning by reading and reviewing annually at least two resources from the recommended coaching resource list.
Coaches Contractual Relationship with NCS
- Qualified Coaches will be contract employees of New Church Specialties. NCS will be responsible for writing the coaching agreements, will continue to develop high-quality coaching resources, will provide on-going training and support for the coaches, will provide New Church University as the place for coach networking, and will maintain quality assurance of the district or denomination's coaching process. For this, a 25% fee is assessed per coaching contract.
- New Church Specialties will be responsible to insure the quality of all its coaches by offering a money back guarantee for each contract.
- Coaching fees are established by NCS and payment to coaches is based on the coaching level achieved. A current pay fee will be distributed at the training events.
- The coaches will be paid on a quarterly basis by the NCS. Checks will be written after the monthly coaches reports have been reviewed by the coaching director.
