District/Judicatory Seminars
New Church Specialties understands the importance of continuing education for leaders. Our desire is to resource the district/judicatory with some relevant seminar topics that might be used in retreats, pastor enrichment days, district/judicatory workshops, etc. Below you will see some of the current workshops/seminars that we have available. This list is updated regularly to assure relevant offerings. Most of the day seminars are also offered in a 1-2 hours workshop formats. Being Offered:
Falling in Love with the Church. This one day seminar designed for pastors and lay leaders gives emphasis to falling in love with the church, connecting with your community of faith and becoming the church God has designed for the church to be.
Developing a Small Group system that is sustainable. This one day workshop designed for pastors and small group leaders focuses on a small group model that can be sustained over the long term. The focus is on multiplying leaders and encouraging participation by an increasing number of people.
Pastoral Compensation. This one day seminar designed for pastors and church treasurers focuses on structuring the pastors pay package to take advantage of the IRS regulations. We also focus on some of the common mistakes churches make in putting together a compensation package.
Creating a Parenting Movement.The one day seminar designed for pastors and lay leaders focuses on creating a climate for Parenting in the local church on the District/Judicatory.
Multi-Cultural Ministry -- Reaching a changing world. This one day seminar designed for District/Judicatory leaders, pastors and lay leaders who are interested in beginning or improving a multicultural ministry.
Building Mission, Vision and Core Values in the Local Church. This one day seminar designed for pastors and lay leaders provides resources and training on developing Mission, Vision and Core Value statements for the local church.
Post Launch Workshop for Church Planters. This two day workshop is designed for church planters that have launched and are in the development portion of the church plant. The workshop answers the question; “I’ve launched, now what?”
Developing Leaders in the Local Church. This one day seminar is designed for pastors to help them create a climate for developing leaders. Some of the topics include identifying potential leaders, tools for self awareness, developing emotionally healthy leaders, keys for spiritual growth among leaders and the importance of character development.
Leadership Strategies for Churches under 100. This one day workshop for pastors leading churches under 100 in attendance deals with leadership development, positioning for mission and building on traditions for the future.
Bivocational Ministry in the 21st Century. In this workshop, we look at the growing need for bivocational ministers. We look at some definitions of a successful ministry and see how those definitions include more than numbers. There is a discussion of the advantages of bivocational ministry for both the minister and family and for the church. We examine some of the unique challenges of bivocational ministry as well as discuss some of the challenges of ministry in this postmodern age.
Building Effective Teams. This one day workshop is designed for Ministry Team Leaders. We will look at the importance of effective teams; practical ways to build effective teams; how to evaluate effectiveness of teams; and the difference between a committee and an effective team.
Healthy Pastors Leading Healthy Churches. This one day workshop designed for pastors takes a look at the importance of self-awareness in finishing strong. We will take a look at character, competency and confidence and how they relate to being a healthy leader. We talk about balance and the importance of a strong marriage.
Creating a Climate for Spiritual Renewal. This one day seminar designed for pastors and lay leaders is designed to give practical tools on developing an atmosphere of renewal. Some of the topics include; Personal renewal through Sabbath rest and spiritual retreats; Developing a strong intercession team; Focused Living; Building spiritual accountability into our lives.
Church Board Leadership in the 21st Century. This one day workshop is designed to help local church boards determine and define the role of the church board in the 21st century. Attention is given to the specific role of the board in the Refocusing process, the development of an orientation process for board members, the role of the board in Empowering Leadership and the difference between a staff (paid and unpaid) led church and a board led church. The workshop is designed to help boards evaluate their current effectiveness and leadership style.
Understanding the Organic Church. This one day seminar assists districts with an understanding of the Organic Church movement and its District value and Kingdom impact. It addresses denominational loyalty, agenda harmony between conventional and organic, developing a mission minded culture on the district, launching a multiplication movement, and helping conventional churches develop an organic heartbeat for their community.
