May 2009 Update
And the angels throw a party!
Once again I am reminded how God is not limited to our methodologies and our boxes of ministry but is open to using all that he has given us for His glory and honor. This month I want to share a piece of Cory’s story. Cory is a young man who is in my father’s church in Rosarito Mexico. Cory was an atheist for 15 years doing seminars on evolution before God’s amazing grace captured his life. He has a passion now to plant churches and lead people to the Lord using whatever means God provides. A couple weeks ago Cory planted his first Organic Church in his house in Rosarito and is impacting his immediate neighborhood. However, Cory is not just going to do church in his home but is also looking for ways to use the internet to reach people that he is connected to in other countries. Cory is from Iran and has been reaching out to people all over the world. Cory is not looking for a plan, program or something structured before he embarks on his journey and his vision. Cory is finding where God is working and joining him there and God is transforming lives. Listen to Cory share his joy.
Hi Darrell,
Things are going great and our Lord is still in full control. I had my first effective online intercontinental evangelism experience. My friend James from the UK prayed with me and accepted the Lord, while we could see each other over the computer. Awesome feeling of joy for both of us, and of course the Angels in Heaven singing too.
Face to face online… It is a new day.
Join me in celebrating with Cory, my father (his pastor), and the angels as they rejoice over God’s grace for one lost sheep. Join me also in praying for him as he begins this new church and discovers how to effectively minister to his friends in other parts of the world. Pray for me that God would give me wisdom, direction, creativity and insight in how to come along side folks like Cory with passion and vision to impact the kingdom of God.
A couple of other prayer request:
- Pray for us as we prepare materials for our General Assembly
- Pray for us as we do seminars on different districts.
- Pray for us as we begin to plan for our first national Nazarene Organic Church University this fall
- Pray that the Lord of the harvest would raise up harvesters who would be willing to “go out like lambs among wolves” into the harvest fields.
- Pray for the Laborers who are in the midst of the field planting seeds in their neighborhoods and communities in creative and innovative ways.
- Pray for creativity and insight into not just reaching people for Jesus but also in how to disciple them to become disciples who can make disciples.
