NCS
2013 Training Events
Over the past four years we have moved away from national training events to a more local approach to allow for maximum participation from pastors and lay leaders. Our research discovered that churches are more like to implement an action plan with both pastor and lay leaders experience the training together.

Reaching those under 40 while keeping those over 40
This one day workshop is designed for pastors, lay leaders and those concerned about how to connect with and reach this generation (those under 40) for Christ while continuing to disciple and care for those who have been a part of the church (those over 40) for years.
We will focus on understanding and embracing the differences between the generations. We will look at the world as viewed by the different lenses of the generations. We will talk about next step strategies focused on how to more effective at reaching and keeping. Finally, we will talk about the importance of pacing change.
Opening the Front Door and Closing the Back Door
This one day workshop focuses on best practices on how to best open the front door of the church in the 21st century with a focus on building bridges into the community. Secondly we talk about the importance of keeping the front door open by paying attention to first impressions. Finally we talk about closing the back door and how to build a quality follow up and assimilation process.
We will provide several resources for follow up in building your plan.
Loving through conflict
Conflict is natural and normal in all human relationships. During this one day workshop we discover the difference between healthy conflict that leads to transformation and unhealthy conflict that leads to division, anger and hurt. We will present some best practices on how to recognize the cycle of conflict and discover the difference between peace faking, peace breaking and peace keeping. We will provide tools for the church and the individual on how to best love through conflict.
Effective Governing Boards in the 21st century
What is the role of the Governing Board in today's church? During this one day workshop with the church board we provide an assessment of effectiveness and identify the key issues facing the local board. We will provide effective models of effective boards and help the board determine their role in leading the church. This is a very hands out workshop for current board members.
Being an effective and empowered leader
This one day workshop is designed for pastor and leaders in the local church. The focus of the workshop centers on three critical areas of leadership -- Character, Competency and Confidence. During the workshop we help leaders work through a self-assessment exercise and develop a plan to become more effective leaders in the church, their families and community.
